With everything we buy, we are responsible for carbon emissions to end up in the air and are therefore creating a negative impact on the environment. The shirt that I will present to you now aims to reverse that completely.

Another Tee offsets the CO2 equivalent of the average annual carbon footprint of one European human by planting 24 mangrove trees.

Produced with sustainability in mind, the design of the tee is led by total transparency. From the product care symbols on the back to the explanatory text informing the user of how the t-shirt is made, and the impact it will have upon the planet. This tee is designed to be used as both an informative tool, and an interesting piece of fashion. The reverse of Another Tee tells the entire story of the t-shirt itself, including its carbon neutrality, the mangrove-planting effect purchasing one has, and even the URL where one can purchase it.

Another Tee is made from 100 percent organic Indian combed cotton. It is climate neutral, made in facilities powered by green, renewable energy, from low-environmental impact raw materials. 100 percent of tee production undergoes annual audits to comply with the Fair Wear Foundation code of labour practices. The entire production process is controlled and certified in accordance with the latest version of Global Organic Textile Standard.

Surrounding the brand itself they wanted to bridge the gap between the physical and the digital. Starting with the visuals for three short films made to launch the product, we looked back to the early days of DOS systems and very basic GUIs for computer systems. Rather than hiding behind slick visuals these were barebones systems that presented themselves with nothing to hide, echoing the design language of the t-shirt.

If even 100 people purchased Another Tee “One Year” instead of the average high-street tee, it would be an immediate saving of 1500kg of CO2. It would also result in the planting of 2400 mangroves, absorbing an additional 739,000kg of CO²³. (That’s 160 round-trip flights from London to Hong Kong.)

They only create another tee when you order it. Whilst this means it takes a little longer to arrive on your doorstep, it also means no materials, energy or resources are wasted.
