A start-up called Lia from the US is working on a flushable pregnancy test. Yes, flushable! But what will happen to the test once it’s flushed? You’ll find out in a second.

Meetlia is the first flushable pregnancy test. This is possible as it is made from paper and will biodegrade within 10 weeks! Therefore, there will be no trace of the test once it is flushed. Lia offers to provide an alternative to existing plastic pregnancy tests, which contribute two million kilograms of non-recyclable waste to US landfills each year!

Not only is it more sustainable for the environment, but it also offers a way for women to test their pregnancy in private. As it is mostly already a stressful experience, Meetlia helps with some of the issues.

Furthermore, Meetlia can actually become a realistic alternative, as the test is 99% accurate. We hope it will come out soon, so women can test in peace.
